If you haven’t heard about Oriental Mart in the Pike Place Market, you have been missing out. Oriental Mart has been around since the '70s and its restaurant has been serving the public since 1987. Their signature Sinigang dish features ingredients from neighboring businesses at Pike Place Market.

Elinor was featured in this article with Leila during her recent visit to enjoy some of her favorite Sinigang with her friend Dede.

Leila gets her fish fresh from her “fish boys” across the street at the Pike Place Fish co-owned by Jaison Scott.

She also gets the produce for her sinigang in the market. She stops by Frank’s Produce to get tomatoes, green onions, jalapenos and some spinach.

Elinor and Leila have the same birthday: August 27. They grew up together at Pike Place Market, along with their siblings. Elinor has been savoring Leila’s Sinigang for decades, often stopping by for lunch to celebrate with her (yes, Leila works on her birthday!).
