Since 1906, January in Denver means 2 things to most locals, sub-zero temps and Stock Show! This is the wild west at its best, the sites, sounds and smells of bovine, equine and everything ranch, land and cowboy. And while you may have missed the kickoff Longhorn cattle drive through Downtown on Thursday, stock show is in full swing Jan 6-21, 2024. Find your favorite rodeo and show events, put on your boots and best hat, and mosey on out to take in the spectacle that is the National Western Stock Show.

But I must admit as I take more trips around the sun I do have an increasing desire to keep the functioning brain cells I have left, avoid après party suffer fests and wake up feeling fantastic and ready to take on the day. Back in the 80’s growing up in Colorado, my imagination inspired by flux capacitors and time travel DeLorean’s, I wish I would have known that someday the technology innovations of the future would be happening in my back yard. Colorado has a thriving $52B technology sector, with over 19k technology companies based here we are the 5th largest tech base in the US. From microchips and nanotech to software and space projects there is some really cool technology coming out of the Centennial State. Colorado was recently named 1 of 2 Quantum technology hubs in the US so maybe those childhood dreams of traveling time and space will come true after all.
