Our Gardens—and Yours!

At Liz & Ellie Local, we love our gardens. Liz has limited space and sun, so she does most of her planting in containers. Ellie created organic raised beds and planned her garden for constant color throughout the season. Rebecca inherited magnificent rhodedendrons and azaleas at her new home and brought perennials from her former home to fill her beds. Stephanie has a large suburban yard and takes full advantage of her space. And each of us has a favorite source of plants, from mom's back yard to local garden centers. One of our clients (you know who you are!) shared that she is exploring pollinator gardens, and collecting seeds from existing plants rather than buying them. How cool is that?!? Learn more at Growing Wild Massachusetts.

A Day in the Life of an Agent

Showing properties, researching market value, submitting offers...preparing a home for sale, supervising photo shoots, hosting open houses. It's all pretty straightforward, right? The answer is yes...and no. There are many things we do that are part of the standard process, but more often than not, there is something unusual about buying, selling, or renting a home. In the last few months we have:

Helped a Boston homeowner sell (at a great price!) directly to another person in her building;
Guided a Cambridge buyer through the implications of buying into a building with a pending lawsuit;
Successfully petitioned a condo association to update their Master Insurance policy so our buyer could move forward;
Facilitated off-market transactions allowing both longtime Cambridge and Somerville residents to stay in their beloved hometowns!

It is ALWAYS an adventure! Let us take you out for coffee and tell you some of the stories we can't write down.... :-)

This Weekend

Mermaids and More!

River Festival returns to Cambridge on Saturday, June 15. The free festival is located on the banks of the Charles River along Memorial Drive, between JFK Street and Western Avenue. The festival's six stages will feature music, theater, dance, and poetry. Don't miss the mermaid parade!

Summer Block Party

Kick off the summer at the Charles River Speedway's Summer Block Party on Sunday, June 16 from 12-5 pm! Enjoy food and drink from Notch Brewing, Birds of Paradise Bar, The Koji Club, Bonetown Burgers, and more, plus activites for the whole family!
