37 Negro Leagues Legends in the HOF

The Negro Leagues were created out of unfortunate circumstances; the color line, instituted in white, organized baseball in the late 1800s, forced many of America's most talented ballplayers to write their legends elsewhere. Jackie Robinson broke that barrier when he debuted with the Dodgers in 1947, but it would take another 24 years -- and a public plea from Ted Williams -- for the Hall to induct its first Negro Leagues star (Satchel Paige in 1971).

Which World Marathon Should I Run? You Choose!(click above to see me run)

One year ago, I was finally feeling pretty good about my health and confident I would tackle my 1st marathon in 5 years. I declared in January, I would run 3 marathons in 2023, and I did: Lake Placid, NYC and Philadelphia.

One of many goals for 2024 is to compete in a full marathon outside of the US, which would be a first. The plan is to run in June, rest a few weeks then begin training for NYC in November.

HERE'S THE LIST of JUNE marathons happening around the world. PICK ONE and send me an email as to which international marathon I should tackle. In March, I will make my selection from the list, register, book the flight/hotel and start training!

The Most Expensive Works Sold at Auction in 2023

Signs of a downturn are evident. Last year, four of the works that generated the year’s top 10 prices overall went for under $50 million—many fewer than the year before. Then, consider the most expensive work sold at auction: a Picasso painting that took in $139 million. In 2022, an Andy Warhol “Marilyn” sold for $195 million. That’s a 29 percent difference.
