—November Market Report —

Autumn faced challenges with global conflicts, stock market declines, and record-high interest rates. Positive shifts on November 1st, including a favorable jobs report and the Fed's rate hike pause, led to the best week for stock markets and a significant decline in interest rates by November 3rd.

Despite the usual mid-November housing market slowdown amid economic and political uncertainties, hopes are for rate stabilization and consumer confidence recovery into the new year, improving housing affordability and benefiting potential sellers.

Even with an expected holiday slowdown, well-prepared, attractively priced homes may still attract quick sales with multiple offers. Qualified buyers, whether financing or purchasing with cash, remain active. The mid-winter period, featuring reduced competition, presents opportunities for negotiation on unsold properties.

Green Gulch Farm Zen Center, also known as Green Dragon Temple (Soryu-ji), is located near Muir Beach in Marin County, in a valley that opens out onto the Pacific Ocean. In addition to a year-round schedule of Zen meditation, study, and practice, it includes a thriving 8-acre organic farm and garden, a traditional Japanese guest house and tea house, and a conference and retreat center. Golden Gate National Recreation Area has much wildlife within its borders. The vegetable farm sustains the community living at Green Gulch and also sells its produce at various local farmers markets, whole foods stores, and Greens Restaurant in San Francisco.

Part of the Point Reyes National Seashore, this short hike out to Chimney Rock provides an unparalleled perspective on the beauty of Drake's Bay and the surrounding swath of the Pacific Ocean. The Chimney Rock trail traverses the exposed, bluff-lined peninsula that forms the eastern section of Point Reyes to the tip, which has an overlook of the ocean, Drakes' Bay, and Chimney Rock. Despite the trail's name, Chimney Rock itself might be the least exciting feature of the hike; rather, views of the unique coastline and marine life, Point Reyes' lifeboat history, and spring wildflowers steal the show.
