It’s important to take your time and talk to different companies because they all have different ways of doing things. 

Check if these people have licenses, if they are bonded and insured, if they have workers’ compensation for their employees, if they have a safe job site, and if they have had any legal problems. You should also get references and be careful of scams. Make sure you understand the contract before signing it. You can find most of this information on the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries website as well. All the businesses in the guide are members of the Remodelers Council of the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties and follow their Code of Ethics. Besides, there is no harm in double checking these things in the first place.
