New York Rent Reaches a Record High Median rent was $4,241 in April, up 1.6% from March and 8.1% from April last year. Landlords are also offering fewer concessions, dropping to their lowest level since November 2019. Brooklyn and Northwest Queens also had record highs in April. A ‘Field of Light’ Installation Is About To Brighten Up Manhattan’s East Side New York is about to get more lit—literally. Scheduled to open in Fall 2023 for a yearlong residence, English-Australian artist Bruce Monro is bringing his “Field of Light” public art installation to Manhattan’s East Side.
