With an origin story dating back to the Ancient Order of Hibernians in 1889, Denver’s St Patrick's Day Parade may just be the single largest annual gathering of Colorado residents in one place. On March 16, 2024 all who gather, regardless of heritage, will become Irish for a day. My lucky 23% Irish part (according to Ancestry.com) and 100% fun part hopes to see you dressed in your finest green out on the streets of Denver celebrating in spectacular fashion!

You can learn so much about a culture by experiencing their cuisine, not just the food but the traditions in how it is prepared and presented and consumed. As an adventurous eater, I have had the pleasure of traveling and eating amazing food from all over the world and appreciate that foods from all over the world can be found right here in the Mile High City. I was thrilled to see the African food scene covered recently as it is one as big and rich in flavors and traditions as the continent itself. And I have to give a shout out to Seble Gobena, my dear friend and proprietor of Eatopia, her food is amazing! Whether you are a meat eater or vegetarian, whatever fresh, authentic Ethiopian delight she serves up on fresh injera, you are sure to be satisfied.

Canyon

If you are an architecture fan, there are some pretty iconic buildings in and around Denver. One of the newest architectural marvels underway is the One River North “Canyon” building located in the RiNo Art District. Ma Yansong and his team at MAD Architects drew inspiration from Colorado’s mountainous terrain when they conceived the radical concept of a 16-story tower cracked open to reveal a vibrant, green world hidden within. It’s a large-scale example of biophilic design—merging natural materials with the built environment to allow people to connect more closely with nature.
