THE HEAT IS ON!

Dear Friends-

A common question we receive is, "How is the market?" The answer really depends on who you ask. Demand for single-family homes remains strong as inventory constraints continue to challenge buyers. Home prices are projected to rise 5.7% this year, up from 3.9% in 2023, and supply is expected to remain below average as the Federal Reserve has postponed interest rate cuts. Inflation eased more than expected in June, and at the Fed’s last policy meeting, officials indicated that an interest rate cut could happen end of this year. Such a cut would be welcome news for home buyers and sellers looking to make a move.

Whatever changes may happen, you can rest assured that we will continue to keep you informed on the DMV real estate market. Hope you’re having a great summer so far!

Recent Road Trip:
New York City

We took our annual trip with our children to New York City for the Fourth of July. While most people head to the beach, we prefer to enjoy the city and engage in tourist activities with fewer crowds. Additionally, it's easier to secure reservations at some of New York's finest restaurants! This time, we saw the award-winning Broadway hit "The Lion King," which was fantastic, and took a boat tour of the Statue of Liberty. Lady Liberty and New York continue to leave a profound impression on us. To quote the great Alicia Keys, "one hand in the air for the big city!"

Summer Snack We're Loving

Swedish gummies are all the rage as they are free from high fructose corn syrup, trans fats, and artificial colors—music to my ears! Several sites are sold out of the famous Bubs, but we found one of our favorites in miniature form on Amazon below. If you have a soft spot for sour candy like us, you will love the flavor and texture! We say "Skål" to these addictive treats 🇸🇪
