Real Estate in the News
What homebuyers and sellers need to know as seismic changes take hold
Starting August 17, major shifts will impact how homes are bought and sold. Agents listing properties will no longer offer payments to buyers' agents, transferring the power to negotiate commissions directly to buyers and sellers.

What’s New?

  • Buyers: You'll negotiate and agree on your agent’s fee before viewing any homes.
  • Sellers: You won't be responsible for paying buyers' agents' commissions.
  • Agents: Must disclose that their commissions are negotiable and secured through written contracts.

These changes aim to increase transparency and could potentially lower real estate commissions and home prices.

Stay tuned as we adapt to these new rules, making the home buying and selling process more straightforward and client-focused!
Professional Note for DMV Market
The shifts described in the article above are big news throughout the rest of the country. In the DC | MD | VA markets, as real estate professionals, our team has implemented similar practices for years. This means you’ll likely experience little to no change in the current sales or purchases of your homes.
Restaurant Highlights
Liefs is Tulum's first Vegan Van & Farm, offering sustainable, 100% plant-based comfort cuisine with zero waste practices. Founded by Thomas and Fem, who left their corporate careers to promote kinder, eco-friendly eating, Liefs serves popular items like iced coffee, burritos, jackfruit burgers, and more. They've been recognized with TripAdvisor's Travelers' Choice awards for 2021, 2022, and 2023, ranking them in the top 10% of restaurants worldwide. My favorite menu item is the Acai bowl, topped with oats, coconut flakes, and seeds.
