Welcome November!
As we move into November and the holiday season begins to unfold, we are reminded of all the things we have to be grateful for—family, friends, and, of course, the beautiful community we’re fortunate to call home.
Here in Santa Cruz, the crisp fall air makes this time of year especially magical, and there’s no better place to enjoy it than in our backyard. See you on Westcliff best time of the year for ocean side walks.
I am so thankful for the trust you’ve placed in me, and I look forward to continuing to serve this incredible community in the months ahead.
Wishing you a warm, joyful, and memorable Thanksgiving! - Michele
P.S. I prefer canned cranberry and no fried onions on my green beans! What do you like? |

Skills of Life Community Cafe - Nonprofit Organization
"I have recently learned about this amazing project “Skills of Life Café” This is a Job training project to integrate neurodivergent teens & young adults with special learning needs. Giving purpose. It is at the Simpkins Swim Center, check it out, I found it so inspiring I wanted to share!" - Michele.
At the Skills of Life Community Cafe, through a 90-day internship, participants learn both hard skills (e.g., beverage preparation and customer service) and soft skills (e.g., time management and teamwork). The program aims to foster independence and prepare individuals for meaningful employment. Graduates can use their experience on resumes and receive recommendations for paid positions at the cafe or other local employers. The program also strengthens community ties by helping participants connect with businesses that may hire them.
