| | The San Diego housing market is experiencing heightened activity, as evidenced by a notable 22% rise in pending sales from the beginning of the year to today. The modest increase in inventory throughout January remains insufficient to meet this robust buyer demand creating, once again, a Seller’s market in San Diego. We will continue to see buyer demand increase substantially from now through mid-March and maintain throughout the year. The Fed has indicated that they will hold interest rates steady through the March meeting. This will likely result in the inventory of new homes being listed for sale to remaining muted, as current homeowners hold on to their low fixed mortgages. Although demand is not near the levels of 2020 and 2021, it is still outpacing the low inventory levels today which accounts for home prices steadily increasing.
