August, the last month of summer!
As the finish line of summer peaks just over the horizon,
we tend to kick it into high gear and squeeze in every
possible moment of summer sunshine,
fun family vacations and time on the water.
Who has time to think about buying or selling a home?
In local housing market news, the activity level is typical given seasonal patterns, in addition to higher interest rates and those mortgage holders that took advantage of very low interest rates
over the past handful of years. All of this combined shows a continuing decline in available homes for sale in the PNW.
Newly sold homes are flat to down as well. Most would be sellers are enjoying the view from the sidelines this summer.
The good news for most homeowners is that median prices continue to be stable, meaning the housing market remains on solid footing.
We anticipate activity to remain at this level through August with the traditional rise in activity in September and October.
