Shave the Peak

We all know it's getting hotter, and it's a vicious cycle that more extreme weather requires more electricity to combat the heat which then results in...well, you get the picture. There are things we can do, and one of them is to cut electricity usage during "peak" times—it makes a difference! Our teammate Rebecca turned us on (get it?) to the Shave the Peak movement and you can find out more in her blog on the topic
, which also tells you how to sign up for text alerts so you can participate. It's easy!

Black-Owned Business
Pop-up Market

Shop Black-owned businesses in Harvard Square! The Cambridge-Somerville Black Business Network, in collaboration with the Harvard Square Business Association, is hosting pop-ups where you can shop for gift items like clothing, vegan treats, fine art, bags, jewelry, and more. The market is located on Palmer Street, between Brattle and Church, on Sundays from 11 am through 6 pm, ongoing now until October 27th. Learn more here

Summer is a perfect time to visit a nice air-conditioned museum. Cambridge has many great (and free!) museums to explore. Check out this

 is a renowned event that transforms Revere Beach into an awe-inspiring open-air festival. The festival gathers world-class sand sculptors who showcase their incredible talents. It opens today and runs through Sunday.
