Mother's Day is today.  Everyone knows that mothers have dominated this pandemic ... with their fierce loyalty to their children and their self sacrificing efforts in the workplace.  More than 2 million women have had to leave successful careers to take care of their children during the pandemic, bringing women's part in the workforce to the lowest level in more than 30 years.

One in ten women with young children (11%) say they quit a job due to the pandemic.

Since I was very little, I have always had two mothers, my biological mother and my step-mother.  At the age of 8, my biological mother developed a virtually unknown and crippling virus that left her hospitalized unexpectedly, and our lives were instantly changed.  I moved to my father's, started a new school, and started a new life.  My mother gradually got better, and had to restart her life as well.  But the change was so emotional to everyone that I don't think, to this day, we have ever gotten over that feeling of helplessness.  And I definitely don't think I appreciated everything that my mother(s) did to create some sort of normal for me, until I finally became a mother myself.

Tomorrow, whether you are able to be with your mother(s), or whomever you feel represents a mother to you, or are thousands of miles away, please tell them how amazing and special they are ... because we all know how much they have sacrificed throughout our lives and throughout this pandemic.

xoxo Love you Mom(s)!

‘This Isn’t a Bubble’

The U.S. housing market is on a hot streak with double-digit annual gains in home prices, bidding wars, and surging buyer demand. That type of soaring housing market is prompting more “bubble” fears in some corners, but economists say the housing market isn’t getting overinflated.

“We have strong conviction that we are not experiencing a bubble in U.S. housing,” Vishwanath Tirupattur, a Morgan Stanley strategist, wrote in a note to clients this week.

Lawrence Yun, chief economist of the National Association of REALTORS®, agrees. He told Axios last month: “This is not a bubble. It is simply lack of supply.”

The rapid rise in prices may be concerning to home shoppers, however. The median selling price for a home is up $35,000 compared to a year ago, which is the fastest-paced increase since 2006,
