It's a good time to review some trends we are seeing in DC crime. Year-to-date city-wide, violent crime is down 35% over this time last year. Homicides and robberies are also down this year, by 30% and 41%, respectively. We’re also seeing a 36% decrease in carjacking, a crime that had disproportionately taken place in neighborhoods like Capitol Hill last year. Of course, if you are the victim of a crime, it's personal and not about stats! Shop secondhand & use "Buy Nothing Groups" to give away gently used items.

Compost to help cut emissions associated with waste removal and build up healthier soil. Eat less meat and dairy.
