All I want for Christmas is a better rate (and more inventory...) |
| Hope you are enjoying your holidays so far! With all the doom and gloom reporting going on out there, it may seem crazy to say this, but this season really is a great time to be a Buyer. As we move into warmer months in 2024, inventory typically increases (thank goodness), and rates are down and predicted to continue in that direction (double thank goodness) creating an atmosphere ripe for activity - and when that happens, we see competition and price increases. A $1 million home in these parts can easily get bid up to $1.1 or $1.2 million with no protective contingencies if pent-up Buyers are trying to beat out other offers. The creative lending programs, rate buy-downs, and Seller subsidies now being dangled like carrots to get Buyers to act will go away once they are not needed. Bottom line: you will pay more in the future for a home than you will now. If you are holiday dreaming of a move (perhaps your current house displays some of the passé elements listed in the "25 Dated Design Trends" below? | Another wildly successful JPM Gingerbread House Decorating Party is in the books! With the generous help of Missy, Yvette, and Jean from The M and K Team at Town & Country Movers and our good friends at Red Bear Brewing Co, we hosted what many of our clients and friends refer to as "THE Party of the Season!" Great beer, cocktails, and bites, a photographer catching the joy, and a festive crew of excited gingerbread house decorators made the gathering pretty much perfect! Thanks to all who joined in the fun. We are truly so lucky to have all of you wonderful clients and friends in our lives. GRATEFUL! |
