The Seaport has attracted experimental restaurateurs and retailers to the ground floors of freshly-finished condominiums. Boston’s star chef Barbara Lynch has two eateries in the area: Menton, a French-fusion fine-dining restaurant, and Sportello, an upscale Italian spot. Countless more inventive eateries have sprung up in recent years, from Row 34, the sister of Kenmore Square’s popular Island Creek Oyster Bar, to Blue Dragon, Ming Tsai’s popular tapas-style East meets West joint. The local retail scene was launched by the transplant of several Newbury Street purveyors in 2010, paving the way for future commercial traffic.
