Waterfront Estate in Nantucket Lists for Potential Record-Breaking Sum
As reported on by The Wall Street Journal, a Nantucket home asking $56 million may set a record for the Massachusetts island. According to Compass listing agents Shelly Tretter Lynch and Marybeth Gilmartin-Baugher, the previous record was around $37 million by a property sold in April.
The 10-bedroom property fronting Nantucket Harbor has about 15,500 square feet and has around 3.5 acres. The listing agents said the sellers are venture capitalist Evan Jones and wildlife photographer Cindy Jones. They paid around $16 million for the property in 2006. The Joneses oversaw the customization of the main house and a two-bedroom guesthouse. A third house -- which is also used as a guesthouse -- was built in the 1900s.
