Manhattan Penthouse with Private Rooftop Pool Lists for $36m
The Wall Street Journal exclusively reports that Hedge-fund manager Teddy Kang worked with the building’s developer to create the home’s unique outdoor space, which also has a hot tub. This 6-bedroom Manhattan penthouse at 55 West 17th Street that spans two and a half floors is on the market for $36 million. Its floors are connected by a sculptural spiral staircase coated in Venetian plaster, which was inspired by a staircase at the Edition Hotel in nearby Madison Square Park. A custom chandelier with brass chains cascades down the center of the staircase.
The apartment includes a large living and dining space, and kitchen cabinet fronts made of hand-blown-glass, according to listing agent Leonard Steinberg of Compass. An office area has walnut-lined walls and a marble-backed bar. Read the full article about this rare gem in the Flatiron District at WSJ.
