About Tony
Tony Thomas has had a love affair with New York City since he arrived to attend NYU in 1985. After graduating with a B.S. in Marketing, he spent 10 years living in San Francisco, the Virgin Islands, and Chicago. Tony returned to New York to stay in 2001, and he and his wife purchased a condominium in what was then the emerging neighborhood of Downtown Brooklyn in 2005. From that front row seat, he has witnessed first hand the dramatic evolution of Brooklyn and the Brooklyn real estate market.
Tony joins Compass after 4 successful years with The Corcoran Group, and careers in the restaurant business and import/export where he imported everything from computer components to art. His service philosophy, emphasizing individualized and personal service, is strongly informed by his time spent working with a who’s who of James Beard award recipients and Michelin-starred chefs. Tony brings thorough preparation to each transaction, and is a tireless and persistent advocate for his clients. His ability to listen and attention to detail make him a skilled negotiator and an effective advisor for his clients as they navigate the complex New York real estate landscape.
In his free time Tony enjoys cooking, travel, live music, and theatre. He is a subscriber to numerous arts and cultural institutions including The Metropolitan Museum Of Art, The Public Theater, Theater For A New Audience, and the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Tony has run 14 marathons, and traveled extensively in South America and Europe.
