"We switched to Tim and Karlyn Nelson’s team after meeting them at an open house, where they provided a lot of guidance about the neighborhood (Leimert Park) in spite of the fact we were not clients, and were represented by another realtor. After deciding we really wanted to purchase a house in their area of expertise (West Adams/Jefferson Park/Leimert Park) we decided to change realtors to their firm. Tim and Lacy Register (Karlyn’s other partner) showed us the same house a couple times, and helped us negotiate and get an accepted offer. Tim was constantly in touch with the seller’s agent, and also helped us request some changes/repairs. This was our first real estate transaction in California, so Tim and Lacy’s guidance was indispensable in getting to closing. There were some hiccups along the way, including our lender not funding on the expected day. Tim kept in consistent contact with us, and managed to keep us calm as possible that everything would be fine. It is very likely things might not have worked out well had Tim not stayed in consistent contact with the seller’s agent, reassuring them that we continued to want to move forward with the transaction a we encountered setbacks. Tim was very communicative, and that is the biggest reason everything worked out successfully. He kept us apprised of all of the key moments, stayed on top of all the paperwork including following up on all of our questions before we moved forward, and kept us informed all along the way. Tim always worked with a sense of urgency to move things along, but never made us feel rushed in our portion of the process. About Tim

In 2010, I moved to Los Angeles to be closer to my oldest brother and his wife, both highly successful real estate agents. Instantly after I arrived in LA, I fell in love with everything this city has to offer, from the gorgeous weather and beautiful scenery, to the endless entertainment and active lifestyle. Since then, I have lived and worked all throughout the city, connecting with the various local neighborhoods and their unique cultures and scenes. 

Sadly, in September of 2018, my oldest brother passed away. Shortly after, I purchased my own home. With the memory of my brother in mind, and having gone through the process of buying, it was then that I realized it was time to become a real estate agent myself. Today, I want to continue the legacy that my brother has left behind. He keeps me motivated to work hard each and every day. 

For the last 15 years in both Chicago and LA, I have worked as an educator and athletic director in grade levels K-8 in both public and private schools. One aspect to my teaching career that has made me so successful as a real estate agent is communication. I have always been available and easy to reach for parents, filling them in on updates in the classroom or on the athletics field. 

Now, I am that way with my clients. My first priority is to make my them happy. I listen to my clients’ wants and needs to achieve the best outcome in every transaction, and I strive to ensure that the buying or selling process is fun, easy, and stress-free. My clients can count on me to communicate clearly any time of day when they have a question or concern. 

In my free time, you can catch me hiking or playing basketball, enjoying the sunshine, reading up on my next travel adventure, or exploring the LA area and its endless activities.
