"My name is Jeri, and my husband and I recently rented an apartment (Chelsea) and worked primarily with Sherri McGee during this experience. We wanted to take a moment to share how wonderful it was working with Sherri from start to finish. For context, we were moving to NYC for the first time, coming from Arizona, to start new jobs here in the city. We toured over 25 apartments and worked with several agents during that time. Out of everyone we met along the way, Sherri definitely stands out as the most friendly, communicative, and compassionate. First, Sherri was incredibly accommodating, allowing us to tour our unit through a virtual call, given that we wouldn't be in the city during the first (and last) showing day. She also coordinated with a friend of ours to view it on our behalf. We later learned that she had THIRTY showings that day, so it meant a lot that she took the time to show us the apartment virtually, even with plenty of interest from folks in person. This was especially appreciated since we encountered issues with other agents not taking us seriously as out-of-state renters. Secondly, Sherri's warmth and kindness made the entire experience so much better for us. It was probably clear that we had never rented in NYC before, but she never judged us or made us feel uncomfortable about that, which helped us feel at ease to ask more questions and get more excited about the space. For example, we initially offered to pay last month's rent as part of the deposit as a negotiation tactic, not knowing this isn’t permitted in NYC. Sherri explained this to us and guided us to pivot our offer, ultimately helping us secure the apartment by offering over the asking price for rent. Lastly, Sherri was extremely communicative and available for us. Anytime we had a question, we received an answer from her within a couple hours, if not sooner, and she always emphasized that she was happy to answer any more questions (which she still does to this day). In summary, it was an absolute pleasure working with Sherri. She went above and beyond to ensure we felt comfortable and informed every step of the way, making our move to NYC smooth and stress-free. She definitely left a great impression of Compass and the AZ Team NY, and we hope to work with her again in the future when looking to rent or buy our next place. We just wanted to share our positive experience and express our appreciation for her and your team. "
