About Sean
Sean Ahearn has been providing professional real estate service for Kamaaina and
mainland-based clients alike for the past twenty years. Real estate transactions can be
complex and time-consuming on a good day. These require experienced guidance,
local knowledge and efficient execution. You are well advised to align yourself with a
real estate practitioner who has the proven ability to professionally manage the process
such, that exposure is reduced, and value is maximized.
Sean comes to real estate after a fifteen-year career in Software Sales and Executive
Sales Management in the San Francisco Bay Area. Akin to many longtime visitors who
want to enjoy the island lifestyle full-time, Sean did so in the early 2000s and initiated
his real estate practice with Hanalei's Coldwell Banker Bali Hai Realty in 2003, where he
earned Kauai Realtor-of-the-Year distinction in 2008.
Sean was recruited by Elite/Corcoran Pacific Properties in 2014 as their Broker/Partner
representing Kauai. During his tenure, the firm grew from a $250M state-wide
brokerage to a $1.4B brokerage in 2020 becoming one of the top firms on Kauai and
across Hawaii. Sean has been recognized by Hawaii Business Magazine as a Hawaii
Top 100 Realtor designee on multiple occasions, including 2018 - 2022 and Real
Trends Top 1000 in 2020 & 2021 - as a result of his production; 240+ successful
transactions at an average sale price of $1,260,000 equating to over $300 Million in
sales the past 20-years.
Most recently, Sean was one of a small core group that launched COMPASS in Hawaii
as a Founding Broker in October of 2020. In 2021, COMPASS's inaugural campaign in
Hawaii, it achieved over $2.2 Billion in sales statewide. Kauai contributed $320M to that
total - Sean & his business partner Jim Karlovsky at AKKauai closed over 69 transaction
and $115M in 2021 sales, over 35% of COMPASS Kauai's total and over 5% of the
COMPASS statewide total sales.
Sean has served on the Board of Directors for Hawaii Information Services, the MLS
provider for Kauai and Hawaii, since 2010, where he works closely with the organization
in a strategy and policy-setting role. Sean also serves on the Princeville I & Princeville II
Design Review Committees along with Director and committee roles with the Kauai
Board of Realtors. Sean has his own fund at the Hawaii Community Foundation,
supports Kauai Habitat for Humanity, Hanalei Initiative, Kauai Food Bank, Kauai
Humane Society and a number of other local charitable endeavors.
"I’m a reluctant self-promoter, it makes me uncomfortable – but I am accomplished and
very fortunate to have a slew of appreciative clients or “frients” as I call them; clients
who’ve become friends. I truly do get great satisfaction from taking care of folks who
entrust me with their significant real estate transactions, it's what drives me. Many
clients are based elsewhere and can’t be present for the various inspections and
minutia present in a real estate transaction – I am. I’m a “dog person” if that helps or is
important. Oh, and I’ve also found that it really helps to have a sense of humor during
these trying times – I hope you do too."
