About Scott
Scott is committed to honoring the impact a real estate transaction has on people’s lives and finances.
Scott began his real estate career in 2005 after 20 years in his family’s millwork business, providing new home builders with a variety of custom-made building materials, then 3 years pursuing a career as a songwriter. He understands that his role is not to just help his clients “sell a house” or “buy a house”. His role is to listen and understand how the purchase or sale fits into the context of his clients’ lives so he can best help them transition from where they are to where they want (sometimes need) to be.
Scott listens intently to his clients to understand their personal situation, their motivations for buying/selling, and anything that will be important to them during and after the transaction. While keeping their priorities front and center, Scott successfully navigates any obstacles or challenges that arise. He is also a creative problem solver who thinks outside the box, offering solutions that clients (or other agents) may not have considered.
Scott values the relationships he forms with his clients as well as industry professionals. His rapport with other agents creates more opportunities for his clients. Scott has won multiple-offer situations for his Buyers because the listing agent knows that Scott is a professional who can be relied on for a smooth and successful transaction. Scott intentionally communicates with other agents to understand the other party’s motivating factors. This allows him to more skillfully negotiate on behalf of his clients and achieve their desired outcomes.
Outside of work, Scott can be found spending quality time with his family and friends. The Joffe’s also enjoy traveling to cooler climates in the summer to hike and visit out-of-town friends. Scott is a songwriter at heart and writes songs alongside his daughter, Susannah – a recording artist now splitting her time between Austin and NYC.
Scott graduated from Emory University with a BBA and has been with Realty Austin since 2007.
