About Saul

With a style that is both personable and professional, New York native Saul Shapiro thrives on helping people exceed their real estate goals. A fantastic listener who approaches every challenge with confidence and a sense of humor, his clients praise his ability to carefully attend to every detail, from beginning to end, forging lifelong partnerships in the process.

Prior to real estate, Saul honed his tenacious negotiating skills, broad business acumen and effortless way with people as a successful music industry executive with the iconic Capitol Records and Blue Note Records labels. During that 20+ year career, he represented world-famous artists across all genres of music. Motivated by his own experiences purchasing homes and investment properties, he turned his renowned salesmanship to real estate where he's had success working with first-time buyers to seasoned investors, across Manhattan and Brooklyn.

Born and raised in New York City, Saul has also resided in Los Angeles and Chicago. He's been a Brooklyn homeowner since 2000, and he also serves on his co-op board — another boon to his clients. When not hard at work, Saul can frequently be found in Prospect Park or in his Park Slope neighborhood accompanied by his dog Jadon.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I cannot give Saul five stars alone.  There needs to be fireworks, balloons and a marching band as well.  Acting as the Executor of my beloved cousin's estate--who we lost to Covid, I was in charge of selling her Brooklyn co-op. I interviewed several unimpressive agents and within five minutes after meeting Saul, I knew he was my guy. The market was hot, the apartment was in a desirable neighborhood--although it needed no small amount of work before putting it on the market--the Realtors were salivating and making all kinds of suggestions and promises.  Saul listened. He listened to me talk about my cousin, about her art, about her life, about her social justice work, about what she meant to our family.  He listened and then he asked what the family wanted and then he spent months making that happen.  He met every challenge, and there were many . . .from an extremely uncooperative Home Management company, a runaway painter/floor refinisher, a long distance client (I live in California and Mexico) to tons ( and I mean TONS) of belongings that needed to be moved, repurposed or discarded.  He never lost his cool, he put one foot in front of the other and kept his eye on our goal.  He has integrity, he is steadfast, he is creative, he knows "the business, "  he has a great network (including his cousin the electrician AND a very good real estate lawyer). And he's funny, which made some unbearably difficult moments bearable. We finally listed and the apartment got tons of attention and several offers the first day. Over list price. He was supremely capable at handling the details of the offer, acceptance and the closing. I am in awe.  If you want a slick Realtor--he may not be for you.  If you want capable, honest, deeply knowledgable and someone who is committed to helping you reach your goal, with bottomless amounts of integrity, you better call Saul.  The family got what we wanted and I got a friend.  My cousin Alex would be very pleased.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Saul helped us get our apartment sold during a very uncertain time in our country's housing market. When we first began to discuss pricing, Saul made a point to restate verbally throughout that we would be setting the price; he helped us feel empowered. We had never done this so that was important.  I recall many conversations when without seeming rushed Saul was available to go through things which were very confusing for us item by item. Saul exhibited patience at a time when we needed that. We felt that he understood our nervousness at the beginning and that he was non-judgmental and even empathetic. Saul showed up regularly and reliably for all showings. And this next one is a biggie: Saul’s online representation of the property was beautifully done. He did an amazing job of representing the property in its best possible light. Saul has a very good sense of humor which is a great value in our family. This made many things go easier. Saul was quick to laugh when appropriate and still kept the entire transaction professional.

Saul was such a pleasure to work with. Finding the right home in a massive city is not easy. It takes a tremendous amount of patience from the realtor's side especially when dealing with folks like us, who were trying to find the right place from Nashville. Saul would drop everything if he knew we were coming to town. He always showed up on time and he was always direct and honest.  The relationship has grown into a friendship as there aren't a lot of brokers out there that have the kind of values Saul portrays.

"From the very beginning of our experience with Saul my husband and I were struck by how comfortable he made us feel and his overall attentiveness. In looking for our "forever home" (and first non-apartment home), we had a lot of questions, criteria, excitement, and anxiety all happening at once. Saul put us at ease and walked us through every stage of the process. He listened carefully to our preferences and must-haves and answered all of our questions. He came with us to countless open houses and viewings, perceptively giving us time to process, calibrate, and discuss as a couple and then all together. It's also worth mentioning that we worked with him on our home search in Brooklyn from December 2020 to July 2021, one of the lowest inventory times in recent history in this area and a period of time in which COVID-19 made seeing places particularly difficult. Despite this, Saul managed to find and show us every available home on the market that met our criteria. Within what sometimes seemed like seconds of a place coming on the market, he made us aware. Ultimately, he helped us find the townhouse of our dreams in an ideal location. On top of helping us navigate every up and down of the second half of the process leading to closing, Saul was connecting us with painters, cleaners, and more. Patient, perceptive, respectful, easy to talk to, and proactively helpful---Saul was a joy to work with and we can't recommend him enough"

★★★★★
"I was referred to Saul Shapiro by another accomplished realtor whom I trusted and I am glad I followed that advice. Saul turned out to be exactly what I needed. I was nervous about selling my 1 bedroom cooperative apartment in Brooklyn given the state of the City, so I felt the role of my realtor would be even more important than usual. Saul delivered. He was very patient, which is important because I take a long time to research and consider every option. Saul guided me through the process, advising me on what renovations I should have done. He also was able to find a good staging company that was reasonably priced. The advertisement, including professional photography, was crisp and perfectly appropriate for my unit and it definitely generated immediate inquiries and visits from serious buyers. After a very thorough period of preparation, Saul timed the placing of my apartment on the market with thoughtfulness and patience. I had a full-ask offer in 6 days. Daniel K. | Seller

" Saul and I have worked together in the music business for over 15 years and in that time he’s not only been a colleague but a friend. I was already familiar with his salesmanship skills and his forte at building relationships, so he was the perfect choice as my agent when we our West Village apartment."

" Saul was the partner we always hoped a broker could be. Expertly and calmly guiding us through a challenging pandemic sale, he got us what we wanted, doing so with grace and humility. No effort was too small or phone call too dumb. We’re happy to now count Saul among our friends."

" Finding an apartment in Greenpoint was not an easy task during the market boom in 2021, but thanks to Saul my experience was extremely positive! Saul immediately understood my needs and he definitely didn't waste my time. Thanks to Saul the entire process went very smooth and I'm so happy to be in my new Greenpoint apartment! If you are looking to buy or rent, I highly recommend to contact Saul, he is very professional and fun to work with!"
