Prior to real estate, Rob spent his earliest years within his family's network of bakeries and restaurants before entering the world of five-star hotels and high-end hospitality. He later leveraged these skills to travel the globe, working aboard luxury superyachts as a private chef for several years before moving to New York City. Along the way he honed his ability to intuitively understand his client’s needs and to adapt to constantly changing situations, all the while providing the highest levels of service expected within the profession.
I bought my first home in Brooklyn with Rob, and am now working with him to turn it into a rental. Both experiences have been wonderful. Navigating the real estate market in NYC is difficult at the best of times, and for a newbie, it's even harder: with Rob in my corner, I felt supported every step of the way. He's knowledgeable, kind, and importantly, patient - something that can't be said for many NYC agents. My apartment proved to be a great place to live, as well as a great investment. Thank you, Rob!

Rob has been one of the best agents I’ve ever worked with. Straight talking, trustworthy, efficient, and no detail is too small for him to help out with. Highly recommend.

Rob is a very caring and experienced realtor. Knew exactly how to stage and sell our house in Carroll Gardens. He got us top dollar for our brownstone.

After a long and crazy journey of renting a property in New York with no credit history, we finally got the keys today. Our broker, a fellow Aussie, went above and beyond to find us the perfect property and overcome all the hurdles that came with being new to the city with no credit history, social security, etc. He is such a lovely person and an absolute pleasure to deal with.
If you’re looking for a broker who relates to your circumstance, goes the extra mile - literally on the phone at all hours of the day/night and is extremely knowledgeable and just a great guy, Rob Schlederer from Compass is your man!!

Rob has been a pleasure to work with. My wife and I have done several sales and purchases with him over the years. He has always made sure we got the best deal possible and helped us understand the process along the way.
My wife and I have really enjoyed working with Rob over the years. He is easy to communicate with and has become a friend and a colleague. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a home in Brooklyn.

As a homeowner, landlord, investor, and renovator, he is able to provide invaluable insights from personal experience, allowing him to guide clients through the constantly shifting landscape at the heart of every deal. Rob understands that homeownership is often an emotional journey, driven by a myriad of forces, from schools and subways to parks and restaurants, and that the destination may very well change along the way.
A first-generation Australian, Rob grew up in Sydney before traveling the world extensively. Along with his wife Amy, he owns a two-family home in Carroll Gardens as well as a country cottage in Stone Ridge, New York, where they care for their furry family of rescues - two cats, Stella and Jack, as well as their dog Chip, who loves nothing better than an early morning off-leash romp through nearby Prospect Park.
Rob loves entertaining and cooking, especially for friends, and getting outdoors, whether bike riding, skiing, swimming, or taking a long meandering drive through the tri-state area to meet with fellow car enthusiasts. Along the way, he takes plenty of photos with his growing collection of cameras.
When you are ready to move and want the inside track, reach out to Rob to schedule a call. His advice is always tailored to your specific needs, and designed to help you navigate the often complex process of homeownership, from laying out your goals and dreams to moving in - or out.
