About Richard
After many successful years in the entertainment industry I decided to change the definition of "location" in my life from living on location to location, location, location! For the last decade, I have ranked among the top producers at DBL Realtors and Sotheby's International Realty in Pasadena. The people skills honed working with actors, directors and producers were an essential part of the success I've achieved with buyers and sellers. I'm committed to delivering the best possible service to my clients. I believe it takes more than listening to someone's needs, one must really hear them.
A native of Philadelphia, my love affair with real estate and architecture began at a very young age, when summer vacations consisted of visiting my six great aunts whose marriages had scattered them along the eastern seaboard from Maine to Georgia. The diversity of styles, materials and function fascinated me. Having studied at Pratt Institute & Georgia State University I hold degrees in Fashion Design and Art & Architectural History as well as an MFA from Virginia Tech in Set & Costume Design.
My experience shooting all over the L.A. basin has given me knowledge of an extremely wide area and brought me sales from beach communities to the desert as well as in the Pasadena and L.A. areas. My design skills and knowledge of architecture have effectively assisted my clients in finding and sometimes transforming their perfect home.
I have owned and restored historic properties in the West Adams Historic District of LA, Los Feliz, Altadena and Pasadena. I'm committed to preservation, am a member of The Los Angeles Conservancy, Pasadena Heritage, and Palm Springs Historical Society and have served on the boards of West Adams Historical Association and Altadena Heritage. Preserving the past more clearly defines where our future is going.
My negotiating skills have attained success, not only for my clients but for the real estate professionals I engage with as well. I have learned that it is vital to achieve the best interests of each and every client but is equally important to create and maintain a positive relationship with one's colleagues in the real estate industry. Making your clients happy results in a successful transaction. Making the other agent happy results in a successful career. One doesn't preclude the other.
