About Rich
Rich has had a 20+ year career in helping people fulfill their investment dreams and goals. From
his early days in financial planning to his estate and gift planning role at California Lutheran
University, all roads have led to Rich becoming a passionate residential realtor that specializes
in the local communities of Oak Park, Westlake Village, Agoura Hills, and Thousand Oaks.
Born and raised in the San Gabriel Valley, Rich moved to the Conejo Valley to attend California Lutheran University as a student athlete, playing baseball and studying Business Administration. He went on to begin his career as a Financial Advisor at Thrivent Financial. Rich was dedicated to helping families envision their future through a strong financial plan.
His successful planning abilities soon led him back to his roots at CLU where he employed his professional financial knowledge to the university’s Estate and Gift planning department, raising tens of millions for the institution he cared deeply about. Additionally, he assumed the coveted position as Chair of the California Lutheran Educational Foundation as well as became a member of the Conejo Valley Estate Planning Council. He held these important roles for more than 13 years while handling and structuring complex gifts of real estate to the University. His dedication to fundraising for capital projects, scholarships, and various opportunities at CLU played a pivotal role in shaping the university’s growth and development.
In 2020, Rich decided to turn his attention back to helping individuals and families realize their dreams through residential real estate. He earned his California real estate license in August of 2020 and embarked on a new chapter with the goal of matching community members with the just-right home through a smooth and seamless process.
Rich joined long-time family friend and seasoned realtor, Alissa Humphries and found their partnership home at Compass. The duo, boasting twenty plus years of supporting their community in multiple ways, love nothing more than helping their clients realize their dreams of home ownership. It has been said that Alissa and Rich are “two of the most likable people you’ll ever meet” and this, coupled with their ability to get deals done and smooth-out even the most bumpy of situations make them a “pure delight” to work with. Rich is thrilled to be working in real estate alongside Alissa and is confident that each step of his career has led him exactly to where he should be - a critical member of the Holmes and Humphries Group at Compass.
Rich and his wife, Sarah, live with their three children in Oak Park, California, where they have been active members of the community. From coaching baseball, basketball, and football, Rich has had an impactful role in shaping the youth of his local community. His own kids have attended Oak Park public schools and nearby preschools, making Rich an excellent resource for first hand knowledge of the top-tier education options within the Conejo Valley. Rich values family and is often spotted with Sarah and the boys and their faithful yellow lab, Wilson. Rich loves the outdoors expressed through his passion for the beach, golfing, and hiking. If you see him walking in Oak Park as he often does, he and Wilson will insist on saying hello! Rich and Alissa look forward to working with you!
