With over 25 years of experience as a real estate broker and a history of purchasing and renovating multiple residences, Ruth understands the vital role that our homes play in our lives.
Home is not just where the heart is—it’s where your life story unfolds. This understanding shapes every aspect of Ruth's work with clients. Known for her patience, approachable nature, financial expertise, and genuine empathy, Ruth consistently delivers value by negotiating the best possible deal or attracting the most qualified buyers.
Throughout her long real estate career, Ruth has had the privilege to work with many seniors. She knows that effectively supporting her highly respected older clients requires specialized skills, a support network, and a thoughtful perspective. Now that Ruth is a senior herself, she has embraced this calling as the Co-Founder of Compass Plus — a dedicated division of Compass focused on serving the unique needs of older adults in transition. She is a Certified Senior Advisor with a wealth of information and resources to help her clients. This meaningful and rewarding work has become her primary mission and passion, allowing her to provide invaluable guidance during life's critical transitions.
Ruth grew up on the Upper West Side of New York City. She holds bachelor's and master's degrees in sociology from NYU and a graduate degree in education from UC Berkeley. In her free time, Ruth enjoys exploring the city's theaters, museums, and restaurants and spending time with her beloved grandchildren.
Ruth says, “Of all my accomplishments, my greatest pride is in my son, Robert Reffkin — the founder of Compass, the brokerage I'm honored to be a part of. Watching him thrive as a CEO, husband, and father has brought me more joy than I could ever put into words.”
