About Douglas
Douglas Kampsen brings contagious enthusiasm and a commitment to white-glove customer service to every client engagement. A New York City resident for over 25 years, he is passionate about the city and is devoted to making each client interaction an exciting and rewarding experience. "I love this city and its wonderful neighborhoods, and it is such an honor to share my knowledge to help my clients achieve their real estate goals. Who you work with matters!"
Doug specializes in staging and curating homes, getting sellers top dollar. Through his "Smarter Staging" program, he is able to add his expertise in staging, styling, organizing and decluttering to achieve the highest prices while keeping costs down. It has been a game changer for his clients.
Assisting buyers, sellers and investors, Doug's ability to relate to clients on a deep level was honed during his 10 years at the global executive search firm, Russell Reynolds Associates. An expert in both communication and negotiation, he skillfully guides clients with his extensive market knowledge and unfailing can-do attitude. A full-service agent, he works closely with top-tier real estate attorneys, mortgage bankers, architects, financial advisors and others to facilitate all aspects of his clients' needs. No stranger to accolades, Doug received the Rising Star award, which recognizes a strategic, collaborative team player who lives the values of the firm. However, the accolades that matter most to Doug are those from his clients:
“He's diligent, fastidious, and sensitive to the nuances on each side that could lock in a deal or jeopardize a sale. I'm convinced if not for him, our apartment might still be on the market.”
“Doug is such a pleasure to work with. Throughout, he was professional, he was in constant communication...”
“He really took care of us, had great resources and went above and beyond to get our apartments sold! He guided us through the complex process expertly. Doug is very ethical, honest and just a great person!”
“Not only is he smart and knowledgeable about the market and inventory, he is a great a guy.”
Doug resides in the West Village and the Hudson Valley with his husband Shuki and rescue dogs Scout and Archie. He is passionate about giving back to his NYC community — as he was in his hometown of Sauk Centre, Minnesota — and continually supports and volunteers with many charities and nonprofits.
