About Nathan
Nathan is a NY-barred attorney and associate real estate broker who specializes in complicated commercial sales (often off-market), as well as residential sales and commercial leasing. With his background in law and finance, he is able to find a solution for his clients in even the most complex and difficult transactions. As examples, in 2021 the Horne Team used a little-known tax benefit for charities (170 Bargain Sale), a multi-layered 1031 method that involved simultaneous closings in 5+ states, and worked with an attorney and architect to facilitate the Landmarks Commission in NYC in order to make transactions possible for various buyers. Originally from Athens, GA, Nathan graduated from law school in Baltimore before settling in Brooklyn and pursuing a career in real estate and founding the Horne Team.
The Horne Team averages over $100M in sales annually with a wide range of commercial asset types -- MF value-add, industrial, non-profit and for-profit development, income-based, etc. -- as well as residential opportunities such as brownstones or condos. As a listing broker, he finds unique marketing techniques in order to get the highest price for his sellers, which often involves hiring architects, designers, or rent-regulation attorneys, depending on the asset. As a buyer's representative, he sniffs out deals that make sense based on the client's parameters that others might not have realized the best use for. For each side, his constant work and charismatic nature leave him not with more and more clients but with more friends. Above all, Nathan believes that honesty and professionalism in approach is the best way to serve a client's needs, as well get the best results from his colleagues.
In his spare time, he is an avid chess player and competed in numerous chess tournaments to pay off his undergraduate loans, as well as a fisherman, soccer player, and author. An active member of the community, Nathan with numerous local charities and organizations in order to keep Brooklyn beautiful.
