About Miguel
Miguel specializes in residential and investment sales, landlord and tenant representation and retail site selection consulting. As a property investment consultant, Miguel has assisted property owners to reposition their assets by advising clients with proven strategies to increase cash-flow and property value. He has worked with small retailers in creating a real estate strategy that identifies the best locations that reaches their target customer. Additionally, Miguel owns, manages and develops multi-family and mix-use investment properties in the Chicago area with a focus on repositioning properties in emerging communities. His investment perspective is based on close observations of demographical shifts, cultural trends and on seeing opportunities where most investors see challenges.
Miguel is a graduate of UIC with a Bachelor’s degree in Urban Political Science and Urban Studies. An avid urban researcher, Miguel has researched the metro Chicago area thoroughly, focusing on the changing demographics of the Latino community and the opportunities that exist for retailers and investors. He has studied abroad at the London School of Economics in conjunction with the London Planning Agency, where his research focused on the financial impact of the 2012 Olympics for the Boroughs of London. Miguel is also the 2011 Recipient of the ICSC's Riordan Scholarship and a graduate of the ICSC’s Real Estate Associate Program (REAP), an industry-backed program that educates real estate entrepreneurs in all facets of real estate. In 2012, Miguel attended the University of Southern California’s Ross Program in Commercial Real Estate whose mission is to provide executive education in real estate finance and development to professionals and entrepreneurs actively engaged in urban real estate and economic development activities.
