"The real estate market has been extremely competitive over the last several years. Mike was fairly new to the industry (3 or 4 years now) recently got married and had a baby. You know what this means? 1. He is willing to listen and learn and is not stuck in his ways of doing business. 2. He is recently married and 3. He just had a baby. 2 and 3 what does that have to do with anything? He is hungry! Those personality traits and recent life changes are extremely important. I knew that him and I would make a solid team in getting what I wanted accomplished. My wife and I quickly identified some houses we were interested in. Mike was on the phone scheduling showings for her to go see. She quickly fell in love with our new house. After the phone call “babe I love it can you please come see it now????’ was when the real work was about to begin. I told Mike the price I wanted to pay for it. I left it to him to make that happen. Sure enough in two days he was able to get that price. Pricing on home sales are all public records so its not a big deal to share the details. He was able to knock close to 6 figures off the price for us. Once we opened escrow, all the fun stuff began. He handled the scheduling and meeting’s for home inspection, roof inspection, pool inspection, HVAC inspection and plumbing inspection. We were extremely thorough on the inspections. Once it was done we compiled our list of requests for repair/replace/credits. The sellers balked and tried to low ball us back. Their point was they already lowered the house significantly. I told Mike that I didn’t care. This is what I wanted and they can take it or leave it. Within 2 days Mike had them agree to everything. No joke, we are talking about a significant amount of money for repairs/replacements and the credit. I don’t get impressed much by sales people, partially because I am “the best sales person in the world”. Its probably part of my ego. So for me to tip my hat and give Mike the nod, that says a lot! Both times in those high dollar negotiations I was able to sit back and say “wow very impressive, great job!”. The last part on all of this has been his availability. I am a huge pain in the a** to deal with. You can ask Mike or my loan guy. I have extremely high expectations, I want everything done yesterday and I will make sure it happens that way. I don’t like hearing no and I don’t like saying this cant be done. Mike was available 24/7. You know what he did in the very beginning when we started this process? He asked right away how we like to communicate. He never was annoying or a pest. He asked how we like to communicate and he stuck to that communication request the whole time. “You prefer Facebook group messages with you and your wife? Ok sounds good!” He made it extremely easy to do business with, didn’t have any push back or try and throw the know it all attitude in our faces. Anytime I needed him to do something, it was being done within 5 minutes of the message sent. If I needed to meet, he dropped what he was doing and drove to me. In the past I would write about my experience and just say if anyone wants to know who I use for real estate or loans to private message me. I obviously don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings for not choosing them. I also know that a ton of the people I am friends with in the industry are most likely excellent realtors. But I do feel that he deserves proper credit for helping us."
