About Michael
Mike Hornung brings 20 years of topflight real estate finance, sales, and management experience to the Compass Sales Management team. He possesses a passion for sales mentoring and coaching, with a focus on new construction and business development. His role and responsibilities include growing and expanding the Compass brand in the Greater Pittsburgh market and coaching and supporting principal agents. Mike’s work ethic, core principles, and successful track record align with Compass’s strategic vision to implement a platform which promotes an entrepreneurial mind-set and implementation of high tech services with an ultra-positive culture.
After starting his career in management consulting with a focus on I.T. and project management, Mike pivoted to real estate finance where he was a principal of a Pittsburgh based mortgage brokerage. He progressed into new construction real estate sales and achieved the #1 ranking per volume real estate agent in Western PA in 2006, selling nearly half a billion dollars in sales-side volume over his career. He then moved into sales management directing $200-million+ annual sales offices in the north region of Pittsburgh.
Mike holds three degrees from the University of Pittsburgh in Information Science, Business Management, and Economics. He and his wife along with their two children live in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania. In his free time, Mike enjoys traveling with his family and is a passionate sports fan and weight trainer.
