For Melissa Miller, a successful career as a sought-after interior designer, combined with her experience as a real estate investor, her genuineness, and her reliability turned out to be the perfect formula to become a Santa Barbara agent.
Melissa has been working with distinctive clients for over 25 years. A native of Dallas, she began her career at the buying offices of Neiman Marcus, in charge of the luxury brand Prada at the time of its greatest expansion. She moved on to become art director for the iconic Horchow Collection catalog. Heeding the call to adventure, she and her husband moved to Jackson Hole, where she launched a prosperous project management career. Over the following years, she honed her business and design skills, managing diverse projects for corporate luxury retail, lifestyle media, non-profits, and select individual clients, buying and selling homes along the way.
Melissa has notable strengths: she is a designer; she is an experienced remodeler; and she’s an astute realtor, with keen knowledge of the market. For all of these, she draws on her meticulous attention to detail, strong work ethic, and dependable follow-through. Buying or selling or remodeling a house can be an emotional experience. While navigating high-stakes, sensitive negotiations, Melissa can be relied upon to remain both levelheaded and discreet. Skillful at handling the unexpected, her unflappable calm steadies her clients through sometimes challenging but ultimately rewarding transactions.
Melissa has called Santa Barbara and Montecito home for more than a decade. Here, spectacular nature and lovely architecture feed her passion for beauty. Along with her husband and children, she relishes the proximity of mountains and ocean and the diversity of Santa Barbara’s cultural offerings.
She is most happy when she can connect a buyer to the house they are going to love, making sure her clients are pleased with their decisions, and supporting them along the way. Sellers benefit from her unerring guidance with home styling and updates, her effective marketing, and her savvy negotiating. “I balance the aesthetic and creative with the business side of the work,” says Melissa. “Allow me to share with you my experience and passion and talent in all things related to home.”
