About Max
Max joins Spears Group with a wealth of unique knowledge and work experience. Prior to
embarking on a real estate career, Max spent six years working as an attorney in private
practice. He has experience in bankruptcy law, where his practice focused on counseling
distressed businesses restructuring and reorganizing under Chapter 11. He has also advised
small-to-medium sized businesses and their principals and closely held corporations on various
litigation and transactional matters. Most recently, his responsibilities included managing the
workers’ compensation department at a prominent personal injury law firm found in Northeast
Florida. Max attended college at Florida State University in his hometown of Tallahassee, where
he earned a bachelor’s degree in finance, as well as his Juris Doctor degree. He remains a
member in good standing with the Florida Bar.
Max loves helping others and enjoys developing strong personal relationships. In his prior
career, he found great reward in strategically navigating the complex issues facing his clients
and guiding them to favorable resolutions. Max applies the same level of care, diligence, and
expertise to his real estate clients and their transactions and focuses on using his superior deal
making and negotiating skills for their benefit. With his education in finance and transactional
law experience, Max enjoys serving investment-minded clients seeking income-producing
properties or second homes in the 30A and Destin markets.
When he isn't helping his clients find their next great real estate investment, Max enjoys being
outdoors and spending time with his wife, Maria, and their two rescue pups, Fern and Brandy.
The family makes frequent visits to 30A’s beautiful Gulf beaches, as well as the numerous state
parks the area has to offer. Max and his wife also love to travel and recently visited Spain and
Italy. Max is passionate about promoting organizations and causes that aim to raise awareness
about cancer detection and treatment. The matter is near and dear to his heart, as Max,
himself, is a survivor of a rare cancer. Max and Maria regularly fundraise for and participate in
initiatives promoted by Memorial Sloan Kettering, where Max underwent treatment in 2019. In
the past, they have helped raise money for Fred’s Team, MSK’s running program that sponsors
the New York City Marathon and raises money to fund lifesaving cancer research.
