I had the opportunity to work with Matt on the sale of my co-op in Park Slope and purchase of a condo in Greenwood Heights and highly recommend him for anyone in need of a real estate agent who will look out for your best interests.  As a native Brooklynite, Matt is extremely knowledgeable about the local market and was a tremendous resource to us on both transactions. On the sell-side, he provided fantastic guidance on pricing strategy + staging, resulting in a bidding war among eight offers (all well above ask) after just two open houses, which were standing room only / lined up out the door.  It was clear he was looking out for our best interests when helping us navigate all of the offers he was able to secure. On the buy-side, Matt took the time to understand our needs and was thoughtful in the potential homes he showed to us.  Matt knows the Brooklyn (and Manhattan) market well and was able to get us early access to listings throughout Park Slope, Greenwood Heights, Cobble Hill and Windsor Terrace, while advising on market conditions.  When we found our dream home, he helped us negotiate a deal we felt great about and aligned the timing of close with our needs. We were so pleased with the process of working with Matt (and the Scott Klein Team) and highly recommend him. - Max M

"Thanks to Matt my two bedroom coop apartment in Boerum Hill sold in record time during a period of high interest rates when there was really not much movement in real estate. Matt laid out the whole process the first time I met him and everything went like clockwork and ended up selling exactly in the time he predicted. He assembled a great team of refinishers, stagers, cleaners, etc. and I had total confidence in all members of the team. Compass Concierge, which Matt introduced me to, was especially helpful in financing repairs to be repaid at closing as a no-interest loan. In addition, Matt knows Brooklyn like the back of his hand and has a cast of professionals to draw from for whatever needs to be done to present an apartment in its best light. Finally, Matt was personable, pleasant, and totally reliable. Our interactions were always enjoyable while business-like. He was especially kind to my cat, who was always present for the walk-throughs, which was a big relief to me. I would certainly call on Matt for any future real estate ventures." - Carolyn H

"I worked with Matt to sell the Fort Greene 1 bedroom co-op that I had lived in for 11 years and simultaneously searched for a new 2 bedroom condo to buy in a neighborhood I hadn't decided on yet. From day 1, Matt was great about explaining all the corresponding steps on the selling and buying sides of the process, and telling me what I should be doing week to week vs. what he would be doing to keep us on track. On the buying side, it was great to have Matt's expertise and enthusiasm in exploring Brooklyn neighborhoods -- it made the process of looking at loads of places really fun! When it came time to close for both properties, the mortgage lender and real estate attorney that Matt recommended were both wonderful to work with as well. I felt so fortunate to be surrounded by the 'dream team' every step of the way leading to a super smooth close on the sale and the purchase." - Amy B.

"When I moved to Park Slope last year, mid-Pandemic, I was fortunate to have Matthew Kirby-Smith as my broker. Not only was he extremely responsive and helpful during a particularly stressful time, he was incredibly knowledgeable about his neighborhood! Sharing all of his favorite places made me feel welcome and at home even before I bought a place! I always felt Matthew was there for me, answering questions, addressing concerns, assembling paperwork when required; he was organized, informative, supportive and resourceful throughout the process. I highly recommend Matthew's services and would certainly work with him again myself." - Ruth S.

"Matt did a great job partnering with us in the sale of our co-op. He was very responsive, professional and carefully listened to our objectives. He goes above and beyond to achieve the best outcome for his customers. Matt oversaw the Compass Concierge process from start to finish. He introduced us to a stager and managed the contractor's work including painting and a kitchen renovation, which really made all the difference in attracting the right buyer. He gave us great advice and his knowledge of the market was outstanding." - Margarita

"We had the pleasure of working with Matthew on the purchase of our Brooklyn co-op. Throughout the entire process, Matthew was extremely responsive, organized and resourceful. At many different points during a home search and transaction, there can be stressful and trying moments. Matthew guided us with a calming presence and expert counsel. We would highly recommend Matthew's services and will continue to work with him in any future transactions." - Joe Z.

"When I decided to sell my brownstone in Park Slope, Brooklyn of 32 years, it was a big decision. I was particularly concerned about where to relocate in Brooklyn. I gave myself two weeks to look at 10 properties in Bay Ridge and had a list of the eight most important qualities I wanted for this move and likely to be one that could keep me happy for many years. Matt more that met my expectations. He answered my emails and calls within an hour of my request and was willing to help me complete many of the required documents. He was punctual, always professional and made my life easier at a time when I was getting quite stressed. He is “the real deal” and cares deeply about his clients. He appreciates that this investment is one that has to work for all parties and is this is his goal, happy new owners and satisfied sellers!" - Amy
