About Matthew
Since becoming a Realtor in 2009, Matthew has cultivated authentic, long-term relationships with his clients. Matthew works exclusively by referral to help individuals and families maximize their goals and improve their experience buying, selling, and investing in real estate. This business model allows him to stay focused on each client’s unique situation so that he can customize his service and knowledge to best take care of them. Matthew assists all of his clients through the entire journey of homeownership, working with them long after the sale to provide resources and assistance to address the challenges and opportunities that accompany homeownership. In addition to helping dozens of homeowners, Matthew has also helped multiple investors build real estate portfolios in Austin’s dynamic market. Using a proven strategy for investing, Matthew has created a portfolio of properties with his clients and his family that has a collective market value of over $15 million and an average rate of return of over 20 percent.
Before deciding to make his focus real estate, Matthew practiced as a licensed architect with Andersson-Wise Architects and Jackson & McElhaney Architects, where he coordinated teams of designers, consultants, and contractors to help design and oversee multi-million dollar residential and commercial projects. As a Realtor, Matthew can now leverage his knowledge of building structures and systems to ensure his clients are making the best decision for their family in what is often the biggest purchase of their lives.
Matthew has lived in Austin since moving from Boulder, Colorado, in 1997 to attend the School of Architecture at The University of Texas, where he met his wife, a successful architect and partner at her own firm. They were married in 2006 and now have a family that includes a son and twin daughters. Matthew enjoys watching and supporting his children as they explore ballet, basketball, rowing, cello, and his old drum set.
As a lifelong learner committed to always advancing and expanding his business knowledge, Matthew is a member of the Aji Network, which teaches business leaders new strategic knowledge to remain competitive in today’s global marketplace and build financial security for their families. Matthew is also a participant and workshop leader for Macklin Connection, a professional development company that focuses on learning how to build authentic, long-lasting relationships.
