Licensed in DC, Maryland and Virginia, Matt Zanolli has conducted nearly $350 million in successful real estate transactions throughout his career, which is largely based on word-of-mouth referrals and repeat clients. Nationally ranked in the top 1.5% of agents by The Wall Street Journal’s Real Trends, Matt understands the importance of authenticity and trust in our fast-paced and competitive market. Matt believes in educating his buyers and sellers to ensure they reach their goals. Known for his focused and friendly approach, Matt has extensive expertise with historic homes and luxury condominiums and cooperatives. He brings an in-depth understanding of the local real estate market, negotiates fiercely on behalf of his clients and conducts his business with unwavering integrity.
A Washingtonian since 1997 and a historic homeowner since 1999, Matt knows the city inside and out. As a real estate professional, he loves working across the area and keeps his finger on the pulse of the city’s happenings. Raised in Massachusetts, Matt fell in love with DC when he served as congressional intern while an undergrad at Stonehill College before settling here permanently. He also studied as an Erasmus scholar at the University of Grenoble in France.
Drawn to the entrepreneurial nature of real estate, Matt enjoys the intricacies of running his own business and is continually grateful that his career allows a unique lens to experience our beautiful city and interact with its residents. He began his real estate career with Long & Foster, became a partner and founding member of Keller Williams Bethesda office, and then was recruited by Compass in 2016 to serve as senior vice president. Matt began his professional journey with Ruesch International as a corporate foreign currency trader and later as the company’s youngest country director in Zurich, Switzerland. Returning to the U.S., he transitioned to consulting and project management with KPMG and Freddie Mac, while earning a master’s degree from Johns Hopkins Carey School of Business. The finance, project management and interpersonal skills he honed during this time were a natural fit for his growing real estate practice.
Matt has been active with local civic associations, served as a board member and volunteer for several nonprofits, and is a certified diver in SCUBA. He enjoys Mah Jongg, reading, architecture and traveling internationally (at last count he’s visited 40 countries).
