"II honestly don't know where to start. I have so many good things to say so I will just start from the beginning. My wife and I were in a position where we had to move across the country in relatively short order for my wife's job. We came in with three days to look at houses. This in today's market is a challenging position to be in especially given that we had no idea about neighborhoods or areas which would be a good fit for us. After some preliminary conversations (phone calls and video calls) with Matt we knew we had found our realtor. His outgoing and bubbly disposition caught our attention and endeared him to us almost immediately. He then followed up with exquisite attention to detail and meticulous follow-through. My wife is the definition of a type-a high achiever with zero tolerance for disorganization or dropped balls. Matt was able to work with her to help narrow down our need list and wish list so that he could show us houses that would be in our desired price range and up to our standards. A week or so before our trip out we were surprised with a "Welcome to Raleigh" packet with information on the city. (Things to do places to go and places to eat) which was a welcome surprise for both my wife and I having come from New Mexico also known as the land of Manya we were not used to or expecting such a detailed and wonderful packet. This packet was extremely helpful to us and helped us find an air-b-n-b in a fun part of town surrounded by great food and a cool place to walk and explore the city between our house-hunting forays. Matt's decision to do this really elevated our stay and helped us start to fall in love with our new State. Once we arrived things started quickly Matt drove us all over God's creation from Raleigh to Wake Forest to Cary to Farquay and Bahama and just about everywhere in between. The Road trips were long but fun and our conversation in the car was lively and entertaining! This really helped pass the time and ease some of the tension that my wife and I were having as we were still rather stressed about the concept of spending so much money but Matt's upbeat attitude and sharp wit made the whole experience exciting and it felt like an adventure to which he was our guide. As Matt predicted we found a house on that first 3-day excursion that we fell in love with. I can't remember if it was the first or second day but we promptly made an offer on the house with Matts's advice. The offer was strong! Unfortunately we lost the house in a bidding war... This was out of our and Matt's control but we had gotten the offer monkey off our shoulders which felt good. The loss of that house stung a bit but we knew with peak season coming up more houses would be hitting the market. It was not fun to leave without a house but before we landed back in Santa Fe Matt had already sent one or two new homes for my wife to look at through the realtor portal. This is just one of the many examples that shows just how diligent and determined Matt was to find us the right house. At the time we didn't realize it but all of the time we spent with Matt during those three days was an absolute blessing. He was able to develop almost a 6th sense for what we liked and didn't like in houses and full disclosure we are on the picky/ocd side of the spectrum. After a few more weeks of searching Matt got wind of a house that was coming onto the market that he thought might be a good fit for us. I don't know how he did it but he got us excited about the house while it was still off-market and was then one of the first people to schedule a tour the first day it was listed. We were still in Santa Fe and had to do a video walk-through. With Matt knowing what we were looking for we felt fully comfortable taking his word on the house's condition and going off the face time video. With Matt's stamp of approval on the house we devised a game plan to make an offer while we were still on the face time video with him. Our first offer was strong and fair but several other offers were received that day. After some discussion and the memory of losing that last house is still very fresh in our memory we opted to up our offer and try to lock in this house that my wife and both loved still sight unseen. After a few tense days of waiting to hear back Matt called us with the news that we had Won! Our closing was set for a month or so out giving us time to make travel arrangements. The day before we closed I arrived after a 26 hr drive from New Mexico and decided to drive past the house before going to the hotel. When I first laid eyes on it I was overcome with so many emotions. My eyes filled with tears and my heart with joy because the house was perfect and soon to be ours. After meeting up with Matt and my Wife the following day which happened to be my wife's Birthday we headed over to the house for our final walk-through. This would be my wife's first time seeing the outside of the house and both our first time in the house. Talk about a birthday present to remember! We were again overcome with joy and excitement everything was to our liking and it felt like our house. Matt had hit it out of the park. His ability to take our feedback and find this house in such a competitive market is impressive and shows how much talent and dedication he has put into his craft. I can't recommend Matt enough to anyone looking for a new house but especially if you are relocating out of state Matt is the person you need to work with. My wife and I feel so blessed to have him as our realtor and we consider ourselves lucky to now have him as one of our friends. "Matt was AMAZING to work with when purchasing our first home. When looking for our home we were living out of state and using relocation benefits to move. Matt was well informed about the details of relocation packages and ensured we wait until the benefits allowed us to work together (which we were so appreciative of because we later found out that if we had signed earlier we would have lost the benefit). We then were able to tour houses on weekends and chat any time about places we were interested in. Being a first time home buyer we had lots of questions. Whether it was finding a pool inspector HOA guidelines or historic district rules Matt answered all our questions and worked through every request we threw at him.
