Mark was born and raised on the Monterey Peninsula. His deep connections to the area, strong community ties, and intimate knowledge of the different neighborhoods make him ideally suited to help buyers and sellers throughout the region.


In 2018 he and his business partner (and sister-in-law), Dana, saw an innovative and growing company and founded the local Compass presence. Their business savvy and work ethic has resulted in building one of the areas strongest and widely respected real estate teams. Feeling fortunate to grow up amongst the forests, beaches and coastal mountains of the Monterey Peninsula, 19 years ago, he and his wife left the Bay Area to return home as this was the place they wanted live and raise their family.


Mark was exposed to real estate at a young age with successful parents in both the residential and commercial markets. Once he launched his real estate career, Mark immediately found success as a trusted advisor for clients and was honored as a Rising Star from The California Association of Realtors and was also a finalist for Who’s Who in Luxury Real Estate International’s Top New Agent.

For 20 years he worked as a marketing, public relations and strategy consultant working with 40+ global companies ranging in size from start-up, venture-backed technology companies to industry stalwarts Microsoft, Seagate and Micron.

Community

Mark’s involvement in the community includes eleven years as a lecturing professor of Strategic Management (Capstone) and Fundamentals of Marketing in the College of Business at California State University, Monterey Bay. He actively participates with many organizations including his current position on the Board of Directors for the Monterey County Association of Realtors and past roles with Leadership Monterey Peninsula, The Startup Challenge, the Shugart Scholarship Fund, MPC Foundation, Hospice Foundation and the Stevenson School Alumni Council.


Personal and Education

Mark holds an MBA from Santa Clara University and a BA in Communications from Oregon State University. Mark and his wife, Mia, graduated from Stevenson School in Pebble Beach and live with their children in Pebble Beach. He loves running along the coast and is an avid surfer for 35+ years.
