About Malcolm
Malcolm's passion for helping people make smart real-state investments, building homes with high resale value, and his earlier 30-year career as a collaborative global fashion brand leader are skills and experiences that help his clients win in a competitive market and create the new captivating lifestyles they envision to maximize the value of their real-estate asset! Malcolm has clients in both residential and commercial real estate. He also has an extensive network of like-minded Compass agents in all the top markets in the USA. He understands market knowledge, and good research equates to pricing integrity which correlates to speed and value maximization. He brings a level of business acumen that is immediately apparent and sets him apart.
His first foray into real estate came in 1985, at age 25, while working and living in NYC. He spent 18 months as the general contractor renovating his grandmother's old Darien 1900’s farmhouse into an example of modern living. He had fun creating a beautiful home, improving the value of the neighborhood, and doubling his widowed grandmother’s income.
Malcolm's love of working with passionate people, his analytical acumen, and his creativity propelled him to lead the growth and relevance of global fashion apparel companies like PVH Corp. (Izod, Gant, Van Heusen, Timberland, Bass, Arrow Shirt) Maidenform and Allen Edmonds. His brand building, omni-channel marketing, business development, and process/change management skills serve his real estate clients well as they imagine their best life.
His love for creating beautiful things, storytelling, art, and design was nurtured while living in Paris. His exposure to art and culture was spurred by many things while overseas, but none like working after school and weekends as a "go-for”/ grip at a prominent fashion industry photography studio at the end of Avenue Carnot.
Malcolm first commuted weekends to Westport forty years ago while living and working in New York City to race sailboats at Cedar Point and carve sculpture in a Wilton studio. He raised a family of three fabulous daughters in Westport, renovating homes and moving three times in town over the 30 years. His family spent winters skiing at Stratton, skating at Longshore, and watching their girls perform in school plays. During the spring and summer, Malcolm coached soccer, played tennis at the Fairfield Hunt Club, raced his Atlantic Class sailboat out of Cedar Point Yacht Club, or nervously watched the girls as they rode competitively in hunter/jumpers - just as their mother once did. In 2014, the family moved to live right on the beach in Fairfield.
Malcolm is a graduate of Dartmouth College with a B.A. in Film Studies; played rugby, was a member of the Dartmouth Film Society, directed student theatre, and created the first co-ed social house on campus with a few like-minded pioneers.
Malcolm now lives in Rowayton, Connecticut, with twin daughters in college and the eldest living and working in NYC.
