The New York Times recently referred to Georgia's "mountain-lakes" area as "the Hamptons of Atlanta". Rabun County, Georgia - "Where Spring spends the Summer" - is quite unique. Although the area can be accessed in less than two hours from any part of metro Atlanta, Asheville, Greenville, Gainesville, or Athens, these mountain lakes are still a well-kept secret. The three Rabun County lakes are Lake Burton, Seed Lake, and Lake Rabun. All three were built in the early 1900s by Georgia Power and remain three of the most pristine lakes in the United States. The lakes are fed by the Tallulah River and numerous smaller tributaries, but are no longer used primarily for producing hydro-electric power. They offer wonderful fishing, boating, water sports and numerous other opportunities for family fun. In addition, visitors and residents enjoy white water rafting, fly fishing, hiking on the Appalachian Trail, Black Rock Mountain State Park (Georgia's highest state park), numerous waterfalls, Foxfire and the Tallulah Gorge. Lynda Dunn Hester chooses to associate with an office that is located in Hoschton, Georgia, but Lynda works out of her home office within walking distance of Lake Burton and Waterfall Club in Rabun County, Georgia. Lynda specializes in the sale of mountain retreats in the most prestigious locations in Northeast Georgia, including exclusive golf communities and the mountain lakes. She prides herself in marketing unique properties to prospective buyers who are considering the purchase of luxury real estate. 

 Lynda, a Georgia Association of Realtors member since 1979, is an active volunteer serving on the state level as GARPAC Chair 2003-2004, RIAC Chair 2006 and Chair of Education 2007. She was also actively involved in the GAR initiative to pass Eminent Domain Legislation and attended the signing of the bill by Gov. Sonny Perdue during the 2006 legislative session. Lynda is a member of the Board of Directors of the Rabun County Board of Realtors and served as the chairman of the 2007 Rabun United Christmas Fund Christmas Tour of Homes. She served the Board as Chair of the By-Laws Committee in 2010 and as Chair of the Multiple Listing Committee in 2011. She was the State Director of the Rabun County Board of Realtors in 2011. A two-time nominee for GAR Realtor of the Year by the Metro-South Association of Realtors, Lynda has long believed that giving back is an important part of her profession.
