About Lauren
New York City native Lauren Starr has an artful way of making real estate dreams a reality with her comprehensive knowledge of the city, passion for people and astute design aesthetic. Her love of architecture and design is evident in everything she does. Lauren can view a floor plan and immediately re-imagine the space. With a background in photography, Lauren offers a unique eye, and works side-by-side with photographers, assuring that her listings are shot from the strongest perspectives and in the best possible light.
Lauren possesses a subtle confidence, apparent to colleagues and clients alike. She is collaborative, open minded and has equal parts patience and persistence. Upper East side virtuoso, Lauren creates lasting relationships with her clients, starting with listening to their needs, while also encouraging them to look outside of the box. A co-founder of The Ribner Starr Team at Compass, Lauren works with buyers and sellers throughout the city, with an expertise in Upper East side Co-ops, where she masterfully helps her clients navigate the often-daunting co-op board process.
Lauren studied art history at Brown University, took photography classes at RISD and obtained a graduate degree in photography from the International Center of Photography in NYC. For nearly a decade, she was a professional photojournalist working with major publications, businesses and events. Today she resides on the Upper East Side with her husband and children with the rest of her family all within a 10-block radius. An urban explorer, Lauren is real foodie, who enjoys new neighborhoods and experience different types of cuisines. She is an obsessive tennis aficionado who's played at the Sutton Courts beneath the 59th Street Bridge since she was a pre-teen. Born and bred in NYC, Lauren adores live theater, movies, art galleries and museums.
