"We met Laura in March 2017 with an intent to purchase a home in Huntington, NY. We completed the purchase in June 2017, and could not be happier with our decision. We found Laura to be very approachable, punctual, and versatile. Purchasing a home in New York can be stressful as the buyer has to compete to purchase a property and balance this with ensuring that funding is ready. This, of course, is in addition to managing the day job and life in general. Therefore, it is key that a realtor shoulders some of the weight during the transaction. Laura was very helpful throughout the process, as evident in the examples below. Once we identified the target property, we probably visited it more than five times to ensure that the home was in good shape. Laura was very accommodative of our request and visited the property with us during each visit. During these visits, there were a few instances when we were 30+ minutes late. Laura maintained a very positive attitude and went out of her way to balance our schedule with the seller’s to ensure that the visit was successful. Laura’s main contribution to the purchase process was during the price negotiation phase. In order to decide the appropriate purchase price, I needed comparable home sales in the area. Using her realtor’s database, Laura gave us access to an abundance of market information that we used to derive the purchase price. The data we received comprised of overall market inventory reports that highlighted macro demand/supply in each of the purchase price bands. In addition, we received detailed statistics on all recently sold homes in the area. We used both the macro data along with sale prices of similar homes to arrive at a purchase price, which was 4.0% below listed price. The offer was well received by the seller and our bank appraisal company. Laura also recommended a lawyer to us who offered exceptional services at a very fair price; he was very thorough in assisting us with the legal aspects of purchasing a home.
