About Laura
Laura joined the Emmett Homes Team (with Long & Foster) in 2009 and moved to Compass
in 2023. Laura has had great success in the real estate market, selling almost $70,000,000 in
real estate in the last five years. Laura works with Sellers to market and sell their homes and
buyers to identify and purchase their dream homes. Prior to obtaining her real estate license,
Laura practiced law for seven years and worked for the Federal government for four years.
Laura is quite familiar with the Washington Metropolitan Area, as a Bethesda native and
Sidwell Friends School graduate.
Following graduation from the University of Michigan, Laura spent a year in Chicago
working in financial public relations before returning to the Washington area to pursue a
career in public policy. Laura joined President Bill Clinton's administration first as an intern
and then as a policy assistant for the Domestic Policy Council. After three years, Laura left the White House in 1999 to attend Georgetown University Law School. In addition, Laura worked for the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Education during her first two years of law school, while taking law school classes at night. Following her graduation from Georgetown Law in 2002, Laura joined the Washington DC law firm of Dow Lohnes, PLLC and practiced employment law. After seven years of practicing law, Laura decided to pursue a new career path in real estate.
