Kimberly has always been known as a tenacious advocate for her clients from her years on Wall Street to her days selling real estate. Her reputation is that of one who maintains the highest level of professionalism and integrity with compassion and discretion. Relationships are the key to her success, as is her market knowledge and her commitment to each client. She truly cares. Whether advising on a studio or 4-bedroom luxury property, she provides the same level of service to all. Her expertise extends across all neighborhoods of Manhattan and all property types – Coops, Condos, Townhouses and Multifamily buildings.
Originally from Scarsdale, New York, Kimberly has lived on the Upper East Side for over 30 years. She received a Bachelors of Science in Economics from the University of Vermont. Prior to entering real estate, she enjoyed a career in financial sales and marketing starting at Lazard Freres Private Client Group, moving on to a Hedge Fund and then as a Director at UBS. She balances her busy work life with Pilates, contributing her time to numerous charities and is known as the “go to” resource for the full spectrum of recommendations on restaurants, shopping and real estate!
"Working with Kimberly has been a pleasure. I very much appreciate her expertise, professionalism, and discipline. I am also grateful for her patience in educating me and explaining aspects of the real estate business that I was not familiar with. I will most certainly work with her again when the need arises, and I most sincerely recommend her to anyone wanting to rent, buy, or sell their apartment." - Sara K.
"Smooth, quick and always kept informed along the way. Truly a perfect broker to work with whether it's buying or selling which I have been a part of on both ends." - Yury
“We worked with Kimberly in a difficult real estate market and her high level of integrity, intensity and attention to detail was exactly what we needed. Her creativity and high energy was critical to our success in selling our apartment at the highest price. She worked as diligently on the purchase of our current residence. I have and continue to strongly recommend Kimberly." - Eric
"Kimberly was great to work with from start to finish in our NYC apartment search. She was professional, knowledgeable, responsive, understanding, and most importantly, she was always our biggest advocate. I would recommend Kimberly time and again to anyone searching for real estate in NYC. She is best in class." - Elyse
"Kimberly Jay is outstanding. I consider her to be in the top 1% of all professionals. She helped me with a coop apartment purchase, and I cannot be happier. Unlike so many real estate agents, Kimberly treats her job the same way a top investment banker would. She is knowledgeable, extremely responsive, understands your true needs. Kimberly doesn't waste time. She delivers results and is an incredible pleasure to work with. Getting from offer to close was a difficult road, and she was there every step of the way truly representing my interests. All referrals I received from her (unsurprisingly) turned out to be tier one professionals. I will gladly do business with Kimberly again anytime." - Michael Y.
“Not only did you help make my living situation better, you helped make my relationship better. Thank you” - Brian
“I am writing to express my pleasure working with real estate agent Kimberly Jay, who represented me on the recent sale of my Upper East Side apartment. Kim guided me through the entire process and it could not have been a more stress-free experience. She is savvy, personable and knows the market inside and out. I cannot recommend her services enough to anyone looking to buy, sell or rent a place in NYC. Douglas Elliman is fortunate to be associated with such a fabulous broker.” - Lauren
"Kimberly was extremely professional and helpful in the selling of my Condo. I was debating whether to Rent or Sell and Kim presented pros and cons of each option supported with market and building information that helped me decide. Kimberly was ALWAYS available and responsive after the listing keeping me up to date on all activity. Kimberly actually negotiated a price that beat my expectations. Kimberly with the support of Douglas Elliman is an excellent combination ... didn't mind paying the commission for this professional team!!" - Tony
"My husband and I have recently purchased a condo in Manhattan. Our experience with Kimberly was very positive and we highly recommend her services. Her knowledge of the market, pleasant demeanor, excellent communications skills, quick and efficient responsiveness make her an outstanding choice for anyone looking to purchase real estate in NY." - Noemi
"Kimberly Jay is a consummate professional. She was the seller's agent when I purchased a coop unit and I was working without an agent of my own. She did whatever she could to ensure that the deal was fair to both parties and that all details, fact-checking, and financial information were handled precisely and expeditiously. She is also immensely personable, accessible, and hard-working, and possesses a wealth of experience in business and investments which I think helps her understand at a root level both what is at stake in her line of work and how best to smoothly manage deals, even complex ones. I recommend her highly and would contact her immediately if I ever had plans to buy or sell in NYC." - Allan
“Cannot thank you enough for your fantastic positive attitude & endless flexibility to such a complicated & indecisive client. Your level of professionalism has been overwhelming.” - Kate
“Thank you for all your help. You went above and beyond, helping with window washers, painters, getting us an efficient and nice attorney and running paper work around. You made it happen in a difficult market! You've been a terrific realtor and I would use no one else in New York. You were so efficient and a pleasure to work with. Josh has spread the word in the Mt. Sinai circle that "you're the best" and I hope it gets you some more referrals. If you ever need an endorsement we all would gladly oblige.” - Adele
“You have been absolutely terrific with all of this. You are likely the most efficient and professional person in real estate I have dealt with to date.” - Allan
“I interviewed 4 agents to sell my condo in NY on the UES. The 3 agents interviewed prior to Kimberly suggested that I list my unit for significantly less than I thought it was worth. Kimberly was confident we could get more for the unit. We had multiple offers. Through her hard work, we sold the unit for $50,000 MORE than what her competitors suggested we LIST the unit.” - Joshua
“You did an excellent job! We very much appreciate your persistence and making yourself available at all times for showings. We realize that we (ok, that I) can be demanding at times and appreciate you always being available via-phone, email or otherwise. We couldn't be happier with the job you did.” - Ruth and Michael
“Kimberly is trustworthy and hardworking. I can give her the highest recommendation.” - Dr. Pahwa
“You have been a true pleasure to work with - smart, funny, a good friend and listener but mostly very dedicated and hard working. Thank you!” - Robin and Eric
"Kim was terrific! She helped us sell our apartment and was one of the best brokers we have had the experience to work with. She was always available for us when we had questions and was a great salesperson. I highly recommend her for anybody looking for a real estate agent!!” - Edward
“I worked with Kimberly Jay while purchasing our Upper East Side cooperative. She is a consummate professional and though she was the seller's agent, she became very much a broker representing my interests as well. Kimberly worked closely with me and my husband, was always responsive and provided excellent guidance throughout the process. I highly recommend her to anyone.” - Amy
“Kimberly was a consummate professional when it came to helping me find a suitable tenant for my New York city condo. She was responsive and pragmatic, demonstrated vast knowhow about the relevant real estate market, and went over and beyond to ensure a speedy closing on favorable terms. She also took it upon herself to help with beautifying the apartment both for showings and in order to accommodate the prospective tenants’ requests (including, by recommending and instructing contractors), which was invaluable to me as an overseas landlord several time zones away. I would not hesitate to engage Kimberly on any leasing, buying or selling mandates when it comes to New York real estate.” - Hessam
