About Kathy

Kathy Williams provides unparalleled service to all of her clients and consistently makes them feel as though they are her only, and most important, client. She is accessible and hands on and does not pass her clients on to an assistant. Kathy is extremely detailed, with thorough up-front preparation, and is extremely passionate about securing top dollar for her seller's homes. With buyers, she spends the time up front with them making sure they learn all of the required disclosures and the buying process. Moving slow in the beginning means buyers can comfortably move quickly when they find their dream home.

Kathy was born in Los Angeles, raised in the central valley of California, and went to college on a full ride scholarship at San Diego State University. After receiving her Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice Administration, Kathy clerked for a judge in the mountains of Northern California. She went back to graduate school at Sacramento State University, studying criminal psychology, but then took time off to stay home for a couple of years with her newborn son. Deciding the dark world of criminals should stay more of an interest than a career, she changed her focus to sales. She sold for and managed multiple radio stations in Reno, NV, turning many underperforming stations into top producing stations. After almost a decade of marketing, copywriting, event management, and training teams of salespeople, Kathy decided to pursue her Series 7 and 66 security licenses. She went to work for New York Life, helping people plan for their financial portfolios and retirement with whole life and variable life insurance products and annuities.

But it was real estate that finally came calling in 2011 and has held her interest ever since. She quickly rose to become a top producer in the profession. Kathy was awarded Rookie of the Year for the 17 state Western region of Coldwell Banker her first year in the business, the number one agent in over 1500 offices. She has received top producer awards every year since. In 2019, Kathy moved her Nevada license to Sierra Sotheby's International Realty and her California license to Golden Gate Sotheby's International Realty in Napa, where she was awarded Wine Country Top Producer for 2021. In 2023, Kathy made the move to the real estate technology firm of Compass, as she feels the company has their finger on the pulse of the future of real estate and will allow her to better serve her clients in this quick paced world.

Along the way, community service has always been of paramount importance. Kathy has served on the board of directors for several organizations, including Make a Wish Foundation and the Nevada Women's Fund and is a current board member of the Historic Reno Preservation Society. She has been involved with Rotary International for years. She lives in Reno with her family, a blind pug named Pippa and a mini goldendoodle named Charlie Brown.
