About Katherine

Katherine works on the Generation Group with Susan deGraffenried.

Born and raised in Austin Texas, KC is the daughter of 30 year Austin real estate veteran Susan deGraffenried. As the daughter of a Realtor, KC grew up “helping” her mom, and tagging along for showings and open houses. Thanks to her mother's love of remodeling homes KC has had the unique opportunity to live in over 15 different homes throughout most of the Austin area.

As a second-generation Austinite, KC has a special love and appreciation for her hometown, and all the things that “Keep Austin Weird.” She also welcomes the growth and change she has had the opportunity to see firsthand as Austin has opened its heart to the world.

Much like this unique city, KC has a big heart that initially led her to a career in education. After over a decade as a Career and Technology teacher at Del Valle Highschool, she discovered that her love of helping others was equally met and fulfilled in real estate. In 2017 she earned her real estate license and joined her mother at Realty Austin, initially as a part-time assistant learning all the ends and outs of the industry, before stepping into the larger role as a teammate.

Through her years in education, KC has learned the importance of integrity, making connections with her clients, and being genuine. Her belief in straightforward communication and building relationships helps KC deliver exceptional client-centered service. The area where she shines the brightest is her authentic desire to help her clients find the perfect home of their dreams. She achieves this by spending time listening to a person's needs and wants, before trying to find their best match. She recognizes that each transaction is a unique opportunity to make a lifelong relationship built on honesty, trust, and communication.

Much like her mother KC believes in the importance of giving back to her community. She is a supporter of SAFE Austin, the Central Texas Food Bank, and the Sustainable Food Center of Austin. She is also an avid ally and supporter of the LGBTQ+ community.
